KMR Associates was founded in 2004 by Kevin Rodin. After a series of pivotal internships in nonprofits and higher education while in graduate school, Kevin grew frustrated that the public sector did not have access to the same innovations and technology that he was used to in his work in the private sector software industry. It is no surprise that the first software suite produced by KMR Associates revolves around strategic planning, because of our firm belief that all change starts in an organization?s strategic plan. What better way to convince decision makers than to let them use the system themselves?

KMR Associates is much more than a software company; we are truly passionate about economic development. Software to us is a means to an end: access to information. Better decision making. More effective programs. Public and nonprofit entities will be strongly challenged to be more responsive and present better data, and no discussion of how to do that can exclude software. We do not see these two things as mutually exclusive. Software just takes less time to develop than comprehensive economic development partnerships, so for the moment our company resembles a software company.

The future of KMR Associates lies in our ability to bring the resources of the private sector to the problems of the public and nonprofit sectors.
